We talked about various tech tools and approaches that can support learning and teaching this week, but I chose to comment on Minecraft. I have to say I found the experience with Minecraft quite exciting. It was my first time trying Minecraft. However, the name was not new to me. My daughter loves playing Minecraft and always wondered what is so enjoyable about it. I know what is interesting about Minecraft and cannot blame my daughter. It was a fun experience just trying to play around with it for the first time.
In the beginning, I knew nothing about how to play or even began, but watching Steph, who was sitting next to me, play and asking for her help several times enabled me to start and experience it. Thank you, Steph, for the support. I loved that it was just a safe environment to try out and make mistakes and ask for help. I was able to experience the magic of Minecraft in the end. I also appreciated learning the ways children can use Minecraft to create and build with mincer to show their creativity and learning. I can not say that I will use Minecraft for teaching because of my limited knowledge, but I am happy to look into myself and learn how to play and how I can use it as a tool for education. I am also excited to ask my daughter to teach me and play with her.
Some of my Minecraft creations are captured here.
